The Arts Blogger

The Arts Blogger follows something called “creativity,” a word that has been mystified and enchanted.   “Creativity” has become a victim of magical thinking, a substitute for a phenomenon that is felt but not articulated.  Perhaps a better word way of expressing this force is “cultural energy.”  The Arts Blogger seeks out Cultural Energy wherever it is manifested—-high or low art—-elite exhibitions or popular imagery—-however and whenever  culture expresses itself—-music, writing, film or performance.  The Arts Blogger cannot and will not accept boundaries, nor can The Arts Blogger work within the framework of the previous century.  The Twentieth Century flattered itself that the art world had been mapped out.   But the Twenty-first Century has rid itself of that constricting arrogance and has reverted to Old World humility in the face of the unknown: “Beyond this point there be dragons.”
